GLAC INDEX

Security well-being

The Well-being Security model uses the GLAC® Index to know the magnitude of the components of the phenomenon of insecurity, perform comparative analysis of it in different territories and over time; generate knowledge, foresight and modeling of it.

The calculation of the GLAC Index is generated through an algorithm that is made up of Indicators and Factors; the indicators are made up of quantifiable data of the social reality, come from international organizations, national, academic, social organizations and private sources.

The Factors measure the changes and effects that the society perceives of the indicators, through the use of modern techniques of big data in real time of mass media, social networks and surveys.

GLAC Index scale

The calculation of the GLAC Index is generated through an algorithm that is made up of Indicators and Factors; the indicators are made up of quantifiable data of the social reality, come from international organizations, national, academic, social organizations and private sources.

The scale of the GLAC index has a range of -4 to 7, in which -4 is the value representing the circumstances of greatest weakness and vulnerability of an entity; and the value of 7 represents the best conditions.

The position of an entity in the scale of the GLAC index obeys the result of the calculation of its variables in the three sectors, with the consideration of the respective indicators and factors at the local, national and international levels.
